RBI And MINISTRY OF FINANCE Silent on High Value Bank Scam

RBI Mute On The Biggest Bank Scam
The apex bank hushes up the FEMA violations that took place during the sale of forex derivatives by banks, leading to a loss of Rs 25 lakh crore. Bibhuti Pati, in a follow up to one of the biggest bank frauds, reveals the haplessness of the victims
(Collected From Tehelka.com )
DERIVATIVES are products invented by the West to fleece the rest of the world. More rightly pointed out by Warren Buffett, these are nothing but financial instruments of mass destruction. More than 90 per cent of these products originate from the five big Wall Street banks. Greece is a standing example of how even a country can go bankrupt by signing a derivative agreement with a Wall Street bank, in this case, Goldman Sachs.

Also, as pointed out by Randall Dodd of the International Monetary Fund, during the financial crisis of 2007-08, these derivative products came in handy for US to transmit the crisis to several emerging market economies resulting in loss of a whopping $550 billion to developing countries including India.

Forex Derivative Consumers’ Forum (FDCF) president Raja M Shanmugam said, “It was during the first half of 2007 when there was a steep appreciation of the rupee against the US dollar whereby rupee fell to 39 per dollar from 46 per dollar within a short span of time. During that time, several banks approached the exporters claiming that they had sophisticated derivative products that would save the exporter by making profits which would offset the loss suffered on account of rupee appreciation. The promise made by the banks was that they would look after the fluctuation part of the deal and take care of it so that there are no losses in transactions.”

However, by the end of FY2007-08, several exporters across the country started facing huge mark-to-market losses when the bankers started quoting the global financial crisis as the reason behind the fallout. During that time, several Indian exporters, who suffered losses on account of this exotic forex derivative, joined hands and started a movement called FDCF whose principal objective is to save the exporters who suffered exorbitant losses due to these exotic currency derivatives.

“Initially we approached the executive establishment of the Government of India by meeting the higher ups in the RBI and the finance ministry including the then finance minister. But the response we got was that this is just a bilateral contractual issue between two parties thereby washing their hands off the issue,” said Raja.

“Only due to the intervention of the Orissa High Court did all these issues come to limelight, whereby the country came to know that the loss projected by the RBI on a particular date was around Rs 31,700 crore,” added Raja.

P Moghan, a garment exporter, said, “As exporters, we generally use Plain Vanilla Forward Contracts to hedge our currency risk due to export business. But in 2007, we were approached by several banks stating that it is time we switched over to more sophisticated hedge instruments such as exotic derivative products to effectively deal with currency risk.”

“The banks came to our doorsteps stating that there was no need for any collateral securities or NOCs – just a signature in the ISDA master agreement would suffice and they would take care of the rest. Also, they promised that they had a well equipped treasury department that would take care of the fluctuation part of the contract so that there will be no loss to our account.”

“As an exporter making garments for the European Union, we have little exposure to these complex products. We entered into these contracts purely on the advice of the banks that sold them. But we were shocked to find that the banks absolved themselves from any responsibility when losses in crores of rupees started to accumulate. They changed their stance, saying, ‘you have signed the contract, so you have to bear the losses’.”

“The unique feature about all these exotic contracts is that when profits arise, they would be only in small amounts say $10,000, but when losses surface, they would run into crores of rupees. In many cases, the maximum to actual profit ratio works out in the range of 1:50 or 1:100. No prudent exporter would go for such highly skewed contracts if properly advised by the banks. But subsequently, we realised that we were taken for a ride by these banks, who thoroughly misled the risk profile of these contracts purely with an eye on the margins they can make out of these contracts,” said Moghan.

S Dhananjayan, adviser of FDCF, said, “In my opinion, the forex derivative scam is the biggest banking scam in the history of independent India – much bigger than scale and implications than the Harshad Mehta scam.”

“It is highly disheartening that the government has shirked the responsibility on the pretext that these are private contractual disputes without analysing the systemic impact of this scam. We have appealed to the finance ministry to establish an enquiry committee with a view to find out the root cause of such a catastrophe, but no action has been taken yet.”

The RBI earlier stated that exporters were equally at fault as the bankers. However, when pinned down by the Orissa High Court, they came out with facts that ‘Serious irregularities/ FEMA violations have taken place in the sale of forex derivatives by banks’. Also in April, 2011, they also attempted to hush up the issue by levying paltry penalty on the erring banks.
Now, each and every arm of the banking establishment of the country is ganging up before the Supreme Court – to stall the CBI probe as ordered by the Orissa High Court. The Special Leave Petition before the Supreme Court was originally filed by the Fixed Income Money Market and Derivatives Association, but subsequently all other limbs of the banking establishment, namely, Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India (FEDA), Indian Bankers Association (IBA) and RBI, joined the battle with a view to scuttle the attempt of the CBI to carry out a thorough investigation.
It seems fishy why so many public institutions are going to the extent of engaging all big legal luminaries of the country and spending enormous amount of public money in an attempt to stall an unbiased investigation by the apex investigation agency of the country. If there is nothing to hide, then there should be no attempt to stall a probe on the issue – what is now being done is an attempt to jeopardise the process of the law in an attempt to scuttle the investigative process that would reveal the truth as to who is responsible for this mess.
“We also feel that there is much more to this iceberg. There is talk of an international conspiracy to fleece the emerging market economies in which our banks might have played cat’s paw. There is also a possibility that bank officials might have pocketed enormous profits leaving the banks to bear the loss on account of counter-party defaults thereby causing loss of public money,” said Dhananjayan.
“All that we want is natural justice for every citizen of this country and not just to those mighty institutions with unlimited access to public money. There must be a thorough probe by an independent investigative agency,” he demanded.
Questions the apex bank ought to answer

1. AS PER figures submitted by the RBI before the Orissa High Court, the notional principal outstanding in respect of derivative contracts as on December 31, 2008, is $2,435 billion.

Since the country’s annual aggregate of exports and imports has not exceeded $500 billion, the derivative outstanding figure of $2,435 billion, which is almost five times of the country’s aggregate exim turnover, signifies that there is rampant fraud through currency derivatives taking place right under the nose of the apex bank.

2. THE OCTOBER 13, 2008 circular of RBI specifies that derivative losses should be taken into account for borrowerwise NPA classification norms, whereas the October 29, 2008 circular specifies that derivative losses should be taken in a separate account and not to be considered for borrower-wise NPA classification. Why this sudden reversal of policy? Was it in acknowledgement of the wrongs committee in the mis-sale of derivative products by banks?

3. THE RBI penalised 19 banks on April 26, 2011 for violating the guidelines regarding sale of derivative products to customers. Why did the RBI refuse to give the details and documents relating to levy of penalty when requested under the RTI? Is it trying to shield the erring banks?

4. THE APEX bank washed its hands from the issue by penalising the banks that indulged in violations in derivative trade. It is in no way a relief to exporters who suffered enormous losses. What are the measures taken by the RBI to strengthen its monitoring mechanism in order to get early warning signs of such violations so that preventive measures could be taken before such a catastrophic damage is done to the industry?

5. WHY DID the RBI join hands with FIMMDA, IBA and others in the case before the Supreme Court in order to scuttle a thorough CBI probe on the entire derivative fiasco? Is the bank an independent regulator or just an extended arm of these erring banks?

Manmohan's Message to People of India

Manmohan Singh has been repeatedly saying that his government has made several laws and rules to fight out corruption. But despite his claim, the value and volume of corruption has been consistently rising and has broken all past records as per report published by Transparency International. It proves that laws made by his government are ineffective and always misused by his government to protect his colleagues in his party and in United Progressive Alliance .

Again on the eve of New Year the great Manmohan has assured the Nation that he will take personal care to deal with corruption. He is helpless, Mazbbor and silent spectator in all fields. His economics has failed to bring about desired reformation though he, in whatsoever capacities has been treated as champion of reformation since 1991. His politics has failed to ensure passing of various important bills, not under pressure of opponents, but under pressure of his own allies in UPA. He is considered as the most clean and honest person but he has completely failed to make India free of corruption though he has been at powerful post for last two decades.

He has got no alternative but to speak some sentences and make some false promises because election is at hand in five states. He has failed to present strong Lokpal Bill despite several promises to Ramdeo and Team Anna and despite mass movement going on in the country. He has failed even to ensure passage of weak Lokpal Bill. He has got no moral to rule .He and his party is habituated to blame BJP and RSS for all the failures and for all charges of corruption leveled against ministers .Same is the position of Mayawati against whom Rahul is crying and shedding Crocodile Tears.

Cabinet of Manmohan Singh is full of corrupt ministers, he is surrounded by flatterers and he is remotely controlled by Sonia and Rahul. He could not do any think during last eight years how can he now imagine of getting success in eradicating corruption. He is habituated to make false promises under the direction of High Command, he is not shy of speaking lie on price rises  and doing all what is opposite of the interest of common men. His new year message cannot be relied upon by common men, He is not better than Mayawati, Chief Minister of UP.

At least Mayawati has sacked as many as 21 ministers from her cabinet. It is true when entire cabinet of ministers are almost same and similar, .Mayawati will have to sack herself at last. How long can she save her when her 21 ministers have been expelled by her on charges of corruption? After all it is she only who selected such corrupt persons for Minister’s berth. She enjoyed with corrupt system created by her and on the eve of election she has started throwing out ministers to win the hearts of common men and to declare that she is quite honest and true lady.  “Sau Chuhe mar kar Bill haz ko chali.”

But ,the great economist, Mr.  Manmohan Singh has remained silent spectator of rampant corruption (Chirharan of Draupdi ) and misuse of the words like democracy , secularism and supremacy of Parliament . It is he who allowed action against Ramdeo and Team Anna who were honestly and sincerely doing great service to Nation by mobilizing public support in their fight against Corruption.

Suggestion for Good Planning

Government of India has expressed desire to seek suggestions and views from public to bring about reformation in planning and they have uploaded a discussion icon on t website of Planning Commission.

What is the use of seeking suggestions from public?

Any reformation is incomplete as long as human values are ignored and disrespected. Corruption can never be controlled by corrupt officers. Justice cannot be expected in time from corrupt judges. Corrupt ministers can never ensure good governance. Corrupt Chartered Accountants cannot stop malafide transactions and fraud in financial statements. Corrupt lawyers cannot ensure timely justice with the victim. Corrupt ministers and corrupt departmental heads cannot allow good officers to remain in and around his work place.

Economic reformation launched in1991 has helped in multiplying and aggravating the proportion of corruption in public life. Businessmen are given absolute freedom to earn profit as much as they like and this is the main reason behind relentless price rise and this is why price rise has gone beyond control of the administration and the government.

Labour reforms or judicial reforms are disliked by all politicians who believe in earning illegal money.

It is therefore not an exaggeration to say that none of the offices responsible for looking after welfare of working class is doing their job properly. It is bitter but undeniable truth.

Bribe based recruitment, whimsical transfer with malafide intention, bribe based promotion, forgery in examination, sale of examination question papers of all important examinations , bribe based setting with interviewers to pass the test, use of lobby to get good posting and before time promotion and so on , all these have become common and usual style of functioning and characteristics of all public organizations. Good employees are sidelined and corrupt employees are getting preferences in all government offices, Banks and PSUs.

Flattery and dishonesty has become the key to success in all fields.

In such position there is no use in framing policy or formulating attractive plans or asking for suggestions from the public to bring about reformation.

Until top ranked officers, ministers, public representatives, politicians and government staff in general become honest and patriot Indians cannot dream of getting justice in any field.

To add fuel to fire, Indian judiciary is corrupt, inactive and inefficient .It takes decades in getting judgments from courts in India. There is lack of adequate quality manpower in courts and hence lacs and cores of cases are allowed to remain pending for years together. Justice delayed is justice denied. Aggrieved person do not like to seek remedy from police department or judiciary. Everywhere bribe money plays the prominent role. In such position courts are used to perpetrate crime and carry out rule of injustice.

Even offices of Prime Minister and President of India do not listen to public grievances, not to speak of other offices meant to make effort for redressal of public grievances though there are several such departments. All such departments are working as forwarding agents or as manufacturerers of money. They simple forward the letter or complain to concerned office and sleep. None is at all bothered to serve the people though there are called public servants

What is the need of Interview or discretion in recruitment or promotion when most of the officers are corrupt?

What is the value of annual or periodical appraisal of employees or carrying out test for promotion when conducting officials are themselves corrupt .Who cares for merit?

None indeed.

All top officers keep flatterers and corrupt officials around them to earn more and more bribe and accumulate wealth as much as possible.

Central Government is allowing time bound promotion and seniority based promotion to staff. Why Public Sector Banks are allowing whimsical promotion, arbitrary transfer and fresh recruitment in higher cadres bypassing existing staff of experience of ten to thirty years in banking.

Are banks top executive earning money in recruitment, posting and promotion like other government departments?

Who is accountable for bribe based recruitment and bribe based promotions taking place in banking industry?

Why public petitions pertaining to corruption, injustice in wage revision and posting of corrupt ED and CMD in banks submitted to Prime Minister and Finance Ministers are ignored?

Why bank executives who have earned illegal money and accumulated wealth by lending to bad borrowers or writing off their dues are getting one after other promotion and cream posting.

Are all these possible due to strong lobby of corrupt officials?

Why government is unable to control growing NPA in banks and punish those bank officers whose ill motivated lending and ill motivated management of human resources resulted in increase in NPA.

This is the story of practically all departments under the control of the government. Everywhere criminals and defaulters are respected and given recognition.

After all why is PM silent on all vital issues related to erosion in human values?

Prime Minister wrote letters to Telecom Minister but did not act to ensure that his advice is followed in true spirit. Nation lost lacs of crores of rupees.

Is mere writing of letter or forwarding of letter to concerned officer or office enough to bring about reformation?

PM allowed Kalmadi to spend 70000/ crores of rupees and could not stop malpractice despite the fact that media highlighted various irregularities.PM allowed deal with Devos on S band and later annulled the same in fear of public anger.

PM has allowed public sector banks to increase NPA or conceal NPA or sell NPA in the name of banking reformation and causing loss after loss to bank in lacs of crores of rupees.

To add fuel to fire PM allows debt waiver of forces banks to opt for compromise and sacrifice bank’s assets.

What is happening in this country after all?

Who will save this country from corrupt people?

Can such PM be allowed to cause one after other losses only due to constraints of coalition government? Is it coalition religion to survive in power?

I would like to advice our honorable PM not to malign at least the word religion. Because none of the religions in universe will allow theft of money, or disrespect to human being or compromise with human values. Manmohan Singh should say that corruption is an art used by politicians to acquire or to remain in power.

If Prime Minister of the country can allow corrupt practices, how can he dream of good governance in other offices of central or state government?

How will our learned PM then punish corrupt people as he has been promising since long?

Flattery Culture & Corruption

Message for those who like flattery and who are expert in flattery

One cannot cure disease merely by applying ointment on the skin until they purify and modify the system, bring about u-turn in HR management, avoid direct recruitment in higher scale, and identify experienced officers who have been rejected in Interviews by officers of vested interest.

Abolish Interview system and ensure time bound promotions to motivate and judicious award to senior officers,

Don`t humiliate seniors by forcing them to work under juniors, inculcate work culture and avoid flattery culture, stop visiting branches and offices just to deliver lectures and punish officers who are constrained to spend lacs of rupees from bank account to extend red carpet welcome to visiting officers,

Those who deliver good lecture are not always good for health of bank.

Unfortunately banks have gone in the hands of a few executives who have acquired talent in delivering good speech but who are corrupt in their action.

Flattery to big bosses occurs only in India, not elsewhere in the world. Interview system has been abolished in many central government offices; stagnation word is removed from Central pay rules. Inculcate work culture like private banks.

It is shameful for 100 year old PSBs that in less than two decades business of private banks has gone higher than that of many PSBs and customers preference is not PSB but ICICI, HDFC or Axis bank. This should be clear indicator of some fault in HRM. Whimsical powers of transfer and promotion has adversely affected the work culture and it has gone worse than what existed before 1980.

If you do not believe on what has been said above you may compare the business profile of pre-nationalization, post- nationalization and post reformation and draw results to bring about positive change. Prosperity of any organization depends on pleasure index of workers and customers.

It is not pay structure which can create devotion and loyalty to the organization. Had pay been real motivator, PSBs would have remained in better position than private banks because average pay of employees of PSBs is little more than that of private banks.

I therefore always say that flattery culture has spoilt health of banks in public sector , also in all other government offices. BSNL and Indian airlines are facing the same sickness compared to new generation telecom companies and private airlines.

Ministers like flattery and money and hence they do not like poor and honest persons, they too like rich and corrupt who can earn and share their ill earned money with government officials and politicians.CBI and CVC all are victim of flattery culture. Good performers are allwhere sidelined and isolated from mainstream and hence all PSUs are almost sick.

Discard flattery and keep away flatterers, if you want to make your organization strong enough to compete with global giants. Otherwise you will like MMS and his team also prefers FDI for survival of the economy. Indira Gandhi became victim of flatterers and MMS along with Sonia is also suffering from same disease. This is why, India as a whole is rated worst on corruption index by Transparency International. Image of the country is getting eroded year after year only due to all pervasive flattery culture.

Internet Censorship

Now Kapil Sibal on behalf of ruling Congress party is trying to build pressure on CEOs of Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo etc to censor news pertaining to Sonia Gandhi and other leaders. But these CEOs have refused to accept the request made by Kapil Sibal taking plea that they cannot encroach upon fundamental right of Freedom of speech granted to citizens.

Now Kapil is trying to tight the screws of these social networking sites so that they may stop allowing criticism against their leaders. This is freedom of speech or democracy as preached by Kapil and his mentor Sonia Gandhi. Government is contemplating of introducing internet censorship. Of course the idea is good provided it is not used only for safeguarding prominent leaders of his party but for safety and security of the Nation.

It is ironical that learned advocate Sri Kapil Sibal is worried about comments made on FB against Sonia Gandhi and other leaders of Congress Party who are scam master and who act against the spirit of common men but Mr. Sibal is not worried about terror activities going on in the country through these social networking sites. Naxals, Maoist, foreign based terrorist are openly using FB to spread their dirty network. FB is openly used for spreading anti national message. There is no control on users and neither has it seems to be practically possible.

Learned advocate Sri Sibal is not worried about sharp fall taking place in cultural values in children due to misuse of FB like social networking sites. He is not aware how children of modern era are going away from study and spoiling their precious time on FB. He is perhaps not aware that even staffs in government offices are busy in chatting on FB even during office hours. The great flatterer is worried because dirty pictures of his colleagues in Congress Party are displayed on these social networking sites. He is not worried for the fact that even defense secrets are leaked to enemy nations through internet hacking only.

I intend to request our leaders like Kapil to discard flattery and perform fully in the interest of the country without any bias towards opposition parties or Team Anna or Ramdeo if their suggestions are in the interest of the country. Government is made by the people, for the people and of the people of India , but unfortunately Kapil is using the government powers as if Government is of the ministers, by the ministers and for the ministers.

Don't disturb Inter State Relation

Illiterates or literates, educated or uneducated, skilled or unskilled who are going to earn money in other states for earning their livelihood cannot be termed as beggars as loudly said by Rahul Gandhi in Phulpur in UP yesterday. Rahul Gandhi means to say that there are so many Indias in India, India is not one but many, UP is different from Maharashtra, and so on …..

As per Rahul philosophy, Indians who are going to serve other countries either as service man or as businessmen are going for begging in other countries. As per Rahul, Indians should stop going abroad for begging and search employment opportunities in India itself or starve to death. As per Rahul, Indian students should stop going abroad for study too and try to get education in India itself. Rahul and his entire family members got education in foreign countries because they belong to ruling class.

I suggest lovely and young Rahul; he should be angry not on Mayawati but ask his parent and grand parent who ruled this country for more than 50 years and who ruled UP and other states for decades together. He should ask his parent why all of them failed to make India so much strong that people of India started going abroad for earning their livelihood.

Even now Rahul Gandhi and his mother are almost ruling the Nation for last eight nine years, why they have completely failed to make India capable to retain all Indians in India and why she is following the path of reformation and globalization.

Rahul should really rebuke Manmohan Sing the Prime Minister who is called as Doctor in economics but whose economic principles have completely failed to stop inflation and price rise, failed to prevent growth of unemployment and failed to remove fear of terror attack. It is dirty politics and mindless economics of Manmohan led government that India’s image is getting tarnished in foreign countries and it is their policy of globalization that Indians are constrained to either go for begging in other parts of not only India but other parts of the world.

Before pointing out his accusing fingers towards Mayawati and other states ruled by Non Congress party, Rahul should introspect and judge the performance of his government at center and that of his party government at many other states. I condemn Rahul for his divisive politics.
Why the state of UP and Bihar is so much backward?
Is it Mayawati who spoilt UP in four or five of her rule?
Who spoilt Bihar?
And I dare ask so called young brigade leader Rahul Gandhi to say more honestly and more clearly, whether all states presently governed by Congress Party are self sufficient and self dependent for employment and earning livelihood?

Rahul and Raj Thakre are two sides of the same coin. Both of them are anti federal structure of the country and attacking sentiments of innocent Indians for their vote bank even if the same results in breaking the unity and integrity of the country. Both are trying to disturb communal and regional harmony.

People from all states move from one state to other for employment or for study without any hesitation because they treat all states as equal and they do so as per spirit of the Constitution in our country. But mean minded politicians are trying to create animosity among people of various states to serve their vested interest.

Rahul Gandhi says that Upites should stop going to Maharashtra for begging. Raj Thakre says that Upites or North Indians are burden for Maharastra.
What is difference between Rahul Gandhi and Raj Thakre?
Such mean minded politicians are not talking of performance exhibited by them and by their parties but they always blame opposition parties for performance not done by them or for their mischievous works, for their involvement in corruption. Rahul in UP is blaming Mayawati and his colleagues at Center are blaming BJP and RSS for evil works of UPA.
Indian voters will definitely teach Congress Party a lesson; this is my expectation from Indian voters.
Voters should not allow person like Rahul Gandhi to disturb peaceful Inter-state relations. People of India should protest politicians like Rahul Gandhi who through their evil speech are trying to create regional feelings among Indians. Media men should condemn politicians who are striking at the very rood of federal structure of the country.

If Rahul Gandhi and Raj Thakre like politicians are allowed free speech , day are not far when Rahul will ask students of Bihar , Jharkhand, Maharashtra and other states not to go to Bangalore for study. Days are not far when Rahul like politicians will ask residents of other states not to depend on Surat and Ahmedabad for their cloth needs. Days are not far when politicians like Rahul Gandhi will ask people of Maharashtra and Gujrat not to depends of Bihar and Jharkhand for their needs of coal, iron and other minerals.
It will not be an exaggeration to say that politicians like Rahul Gandhi are not restrained and condemned; they due to their inexperience or lack of maturity or due to their mischievous intentions will break India like erstwhile Soviet Union.

Role of Media

Media says that Team Anna and Ramdeo Baba movement are supported by BJP and RSS.

I ask them,

What is harm in it?

On issues of national concern, anyone can extend support to anyone including Congress Party.

Even members of ruling party are also supporting Team Anna and Ramdeo movement, of course not openly.

Only person who are blind supporter of one party or the other are supporting or opposing Team Anna and Ramdeo without any rhyme or reason, without any logical facts in their mind in support of their views on Team Anna.

Congress Party is also taking support of RSS backed BJP members. The much debated nuclear bill, MP salary revision bill, policy of reformation, and privatization, globalization and liberalization and many other important bills have been supported by RSS and BJP in the past.

Some hard core BJP supporters are even now in Congress party and some after getting exit orders from BJP are indirectly supporting Congress Party.

I therefore appeal to all politicians and media men to stop dirty politics immediately, otherwise people of India will not excuse.

I am unable to understand why members of BJP make comment on the news like, Sonia is guiding MMS as remote control or Rahul Gandhi is going to be next PM or Rahul Gandhi should or should not be working president, MMS is weak PM...

Why not they focus work done by BJP ruled state or what they promise to do in future to attract voters in their fold .........................

They can highlight the failure of the MMS led government, corruption of ministers and members of ruling party------------

They can highlight defects of policy adopted by the government, deficiencies in services extended by government departments, negligence of ministers and MPs, and also non performance of MPs in their constituencies.

Similarly Congress Party should not be worried whether BJP is guided by RSS and VHP or not, Modi is aspiring for the post of PM or not, Advani do or do not like Modi, Sushma is antagonist of Jaitley and so on............

They should bother how to eliminate corruption from the system and not waste their time and time of media on whether team Anna is backed by RSS or not, BJP and Ramdeo are two sides of same coin or not and so on -----------

They should avoid creating confusion and conflict among various right thinking person to divide them.

They should focus on faults of state government led by BJP or NDA and highlight the negative points where BJP or its partners have failed to perform well................................

They can discuss various points of manifesto which goes against national interest in their view and so on……………..

All parties should desist from fighting in the past, concentrate of present quality of governance and future plans. They should avoid mutual blame game and think for voters in true sense.

Why media is spending much time of their valued TV channel in conducting debate on difference of opinion among Team Anna members, between Modi and Advani, between Pranab and Chidambram and so on.......

Media should play constructive role of making India as one cohesive body instead of dividing the society on various disputed issues.

Media should try to create harmonic relation among various caste and communities and not use points of dispute among various castes and communities to prepare them with daggers drawn against each other.

Unity is strength. If we remain divided and media continue to sprinkle petrol on old wounds of various groups and raise disputed matters of past time and again, social harmony will always be victim of limited number of hardcore fundamentalists and separatists and ultimately our enemy countries will take advantage of our disunity , jeopardizing unity and integrity of the country.
